SEFA helps the Philippines go solar

CAVITE, Philippines – The new Calibara solar farm in Cavite, Philippines will not only bring sustainable energy to the city, but several surrounding villages will be able to transition from fossil fuel generators to solar energy.

“With the addition of the new solar farm in Cavite, we will see a decrease in the overall energy cost by 8%,” secretary of energy Alfonso Cusi said.

With most of the country paying high prices for fossil fuels, the aim of the new solar farm is to lower the overall price for energy. Not only will the country see a decrease in overall fuel prices, but they would also see a smaller carbon footprint as well.

The current layout of the solar farm spans over 35 acres, at that size the country will be able to expand their solar energy market to meet the 13.25% goal set earlier this year.

“The new solar farm would not only be beneficial for the country’s finances, but it would also push them to the top of the global sustainable energy sector,” said SEFA’s solar director, Rose Rasmussen.

Although the Philippines is still growing their sustainable energy output, the Calibara solar farm will allow the country to have a higher standing in the global energy sector.
