SEFA hosts volunteer recruitment at Texas State University’s Market Days

SAN MARCOS, Texas – With the proposal of the Swan Dam in Wuhan, China recently approved, SEFA is spreading the word about how students can get involved at the Texas State Market Days on Sep. 15.

“Although there is a lot to do in Wuhan, there is still plenty that needs to be done here in the states. We are looking for students who are passionate about a greener Earth and care about its future health,” said Abby McCumber, SEFA’s hydroelectric director.

Targeting students who are passionate about the health of the planet, SEFA aims to spread awareness about the Swan Dam and about any projects that are still under design.

“I think this is a great way for students to get involved in the world around them while also changing the world for the better. I have been working with SEFA for two years now and I love the real-world experience I have gotten from my time there,” said Kate Salters, PACE peer mentor and SEFA ambassador.

Through the Market Days event, there is sure to be a big turn out with many current Texas State students eager to help and gain knowledge about sustainable energy. Many of the volunteers or ambassadors in the San Marcos area attend Texas State and have received hands on experience with many of the SEFA projects.

Although the Swan Dam is in China, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved with SEFA.
